An Audience of One

"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward."
— Colossians 3:23–24

Most workdays include at least one task that no one will notice or thank you for — the report double-checked, the email answered kindly instead of curtly, the extra effort no manager will ever see. Paul reframes the whole category. You are not ultimately working for the approval in the room; you are working before an audience of one who sees every unseen effort. That doesn't make the tedious parts of work exciting, but it does make them meaningful. Offer today's labor to Him, visible or not.

Prayer

Lord, let my work today be an offering to You, not a performance for anyone watching. Reward what only You see. Amen.
