Every Good Gift

"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change."
— James 1:17

James roots gratitude in a specific claim about God's character: unchanging, without variation or shadow. That means the good things in your life today are not random luck that might just as easily have gone the other way; they trace back to a Father whose generosity doesn't fluctuate with mood or season. Take stock of one good gift right now — a person, a provision, an ability, a small mercy — and trace it consciously back to its source, letting gratitude land somewhere solid rather than floating as a vague feeling.

Prayer

Father of lights, thank You for every good gift You've given. Help me trace my blessings back to Your unchanging generosity. Amen.
