Plans to Prosper You

"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope."
— Jeremiah 29:11

This promise was spoken to exiles settling into seventy years of displacement, not to people about to receive an immediate rescue — worth remembering before applying it too casually to your own timeline. God's plans for welfare unfolded slowly, across a whole generation, before the return home. If your current circumstances feel more like exile than fulfillment, this verse still applies, but perhaps not the way you'd hoped: it's a promise to hold onto through a long season, not a guarantee of an immediate turnaround. Trust the plan even inside the waiting.

Prayer

Lord, I trust Your plans for my welfare, even in this long season. Give me hope for the future You have prepared. Amen.
