Gratitude Even Here

"Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness."
— James 1:2–3

James is not telling you to fake happiness about hardship. 'Count it all joy' is an accounting term — a deliberate choice to see something true even when it isn't the most obvious feeling in the room. Gratitude in trial isn't gratitude for the pain itself, but for what the pain is producing: endurance, depth, a faith tested and found real. Try naming one thing today, even inside a difficulty, that you can genuinely thank God for. Let that be your starting ledger entry, however small.

Prayer

Father, teach me to find joy even in hard seasons, not by pretending but by trusting what You're producing in me. Amen.
