"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."
God gives Joshua this command right as he's about to lead a nation into completely unfamiliar territory — no map, no precedent, an enormous task ahead. Notice the courage isn't grounded in Joshua's own competence; it's grounded entirely in the promise attached to it: wherever you go. Whatever new territory you're stepping into today — a decision, a conversation, a risk — your courage doesn't have to come from confidence in yourself. It can come from confidence in the presence going with you.
Lord, give me courage today, not because I feel ready but because You are with me wherever I go. Amen.
